Company: Give InKind
What sparked our interest:
The holiday season is the best time to show how thankful we are for everyone that has supported us during challenging days.
Today, we want to draw attention to Laura Malcolm’s outstanding work with Give InKind. After experiencing a stillbirth and needing to organize all of the support from her loved ones, she founded this organization that shows us how small acts of kindness can make a big difference in someone’s life.
What we love:
Knowing where to start when you want to help someone can be tough. You might see a loved one going through a difficult situation and want to help but feel unsure how or if your efforts would make a difference.
That is why organizations like Give InKind are so important.
They take the time to educate people on how they can be a helping hand to anyone undergoing any kind of difficult time.
Give InKind is an example and an inspiration for how we can accomplish great things when we work together.
The 3 takeaways you should be doing today:
- Take action and make the world a better place.
- Researching and getting involved with organizations that support people during difficult times is a great way to show how thankful you are.
- Don’t be afraid to reach out to the person or people you want to help. Even what seems like a small offer of assistance can make a difference.
About Give InKind:
Give InKind was started with a notebook, a sea of flowers, and two grieving parents. After experiencing the unexpected stillbirth of their first child, Founder Laura Malcolm and her husband James saw how much work was created for their friends and families that wanted to be supportive from around the country. There were questions about where to order delivery meals from, what to send or say to a family experiencing baby loss, whether or not they were up for visitors or phone calls – and Laura knew there had to be a simpler way to coordinate all of the efforts from the loved ones that wanted to help. In Layla’s honor, Give InKind was born.
