Spark | Sharing Excess

Company: Sharing Excess

What sparked our interest:

Powerful. Helpful. Compassionate. Invaluable.

Those words came to my mind when I saw this picture. Sharing Excess is a much-needed solution to the problem of food waste and hunger.

What we love:

Every year, millions of pounds of perfectly good food go to waste while millions of people go hungry. Sharing Excess helps to bridge the gap between these two problems by partnering with grocery stores, restaurants, wholesalers, and farmers to deliver surplus food to a network of nonprofits, food banks, and community organizations.

We encourage you to support companies like them; they deserve a big applause for their fantastic work serving different communities, helping preserve our natural resources, and reducing food waste!

The 3 takeaways you should be doing today:

  1. The world needs more companies that take responsibility for sustainability, so don’t be afraid to take the step of doing good for the planet (and talking about it).
  2. Be part of the change you wish to see in the world.
  3. Stay relevant.

About Sharing Excess:

At Sharing Excess, we’re using the surplus to solve scarcity. By partnering with grocery stores, restaurants, wholesalers, and farmers Sharing Excess rescues and redistributes over 120,000 lbs. of food weekly.
