A MESSAGE FROM OUR FOUNDER
I was diagnosed with Appendix Cancer in my mid-thirties. It was a shocking and intense experience that changed not only my life but the life of everyone around me.
Luckily, many people helped me through my journey, from the doctors and nurses who treated me to the friends and family who supported me. After I had gone through all the treatments and was in remission, I started thinking about ways to give back to the community that had helped me so much.
I realized that I wanted to find a way to help others who were going through the same thing. I wanted to give back and support others to not feel alone in this journey.
Cancer can be a very isolating and draining experience, so having someone that cares about you, helps you handle basic needs, and provides hope when everything seems lost, makes a difference during your treatment.
That is my way of giving back. Do you have yours?
If not, let me introduce you to Giving Tuesday.
Ready to join the movement and give back?
This fantastic time is just around the corner on November 29th. If you’re looking to donate to a worthy cause, we hope you’ll keep Beyond Basic Needs in mind, so we can continue to provide essential support to cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy.
We believe that no one should have to face cancer alone, and our goal on Giving Tuesday is to make a real difference in the lives of those fighting cancer.
